There are several versions of the basilisks on live of different levels and most of them have stun.  There were the Pseudo Basilisks(~10ish) and the Cockatrices in the fronteirs (low 40's) that casted stun that I can remember.

Yeah but the aged basilisk that I speak of I actually got onto my friends live account and fought and it still did not insta stun right off the bat although it did proc a stun vs cast a stun like I tested on Argain.  I am simply stating the level 50 equivalent should not exist nor insta stun on first hit.
