Even if its a display issue, the fact is they still hit too hard.  It's not hard to notice that after 1 style and 2 DD's you lose quite a chunk of hit points starting at 100% dropping to 65% or even lower.

I believe it to be a display issue but I think what you see displayed on your screen is the true damage not what the skald/bard/minst sees so yes it is doing way to much damage and needs to be fixed but who knows when the server will be back up again if ever.

Shouldn't he be able to just check IP addresses?  I believe he should be able to see Sulps IP address on Sulphhlolol especially if he has the exact time and date???

I feel they are a sad too high.  Taking 250-300ish damage (without AoM) per DD.  Using both thats a nice 500-600 dump.  A possible solution to this high damage would be to give CL Resist buffs ;/

but we already get cl resist buffs from the bb.

one reason they're so high is because we get capped everything. last time i played live i don't believe i ever saw a skald/minst template that had 10 resist pierce, 10 spell dmg, capped skills and capped charisma.

No thats not entirely true.  The insta dds hit for so much because for some reason they do 20% more damage on your screen than they see on their own.  I have done tests to see the difference between nightshade insta DD and bard/skald insta dd and the bard and skald insta DD shows a 20% increase in damage on the targets screen.  In otherwords the DD hits for 220 damage on the skalds screen but its 264 damage on your screen.  Even normal caster spells only show a 5% increase in damage between screens why there is even a difference I do not know.

Crits should NOT crit the same for every dot tick.  That's not how it works on live and it doesn't matter.  This is not live.
Um yes they should man.  That screenshot there is live server.  They crit for the same amount of damage for every tick and only reapply when the next crit is greater than the original.

I beleive on previous servers there was a bug where if you had the "Magic Dexterity Number" you would always nuke for what seemed to be caster damage values.
This is partially true.  I have tested different dex and I have found that certain levels of dex provide more damage than others.  One would believe the highest amount of dex would provide the highest amount of damage but this is entirely false.  There is a certain range of dex that does increase damage but from what I have noticed it has only increased it by 10 damage.  That is not to say that there is such thing as a "magic dexterity number" that is within the ranges I have discovered that turns the DD into normal caster spell but one should not rush in and reduce the damage because the increased damage is what I have found to be a range of numbers then you would completely nerf the spell for anyone who is not cheating in such ways.

Once the damn server comes back I'll test it out because you are correct the damage should be less vs tanks than casters.  I will take a brand new NS and PA a brand new warrior then I will PA a brand new runemaster and see what happens.  I will do it multiple times to ensure we include variance in such mentioned tests.  Sup Jero you bastard you.

It does not occur if the crit is new crit is less than the original crit i mean if you want that to happen sure you can have your dot go from 240 to 180 on a crit you can nerf your own class

rofl it only occurs when the crit damage is higher any coder would understand that X > Y and would not make it so that if you crit a higher damage that it would not overwrite it.  You're a jackass and don't read **** nor even looked at the picture you dipshit otherwise you would of seen that yes it recasted when the crit damage was a higher value than the original crit which would again obviously happen you dipshit.  It's more like I'm trying to prevent your class from being even more OP because if X < Y then X continues not Y nor does Y occur while X is happening and Y overwrites X if Y is greater than X.

Yes you can spam non-stop on a target but the second it crits you cannot spam it anymore let me show you.

Above is a live screen shot of a mana mentalist spamming dot on a mob.  Do note it says "The leprechaun already has that effect" otherwise I would be able to spam an insane crit dot again and again at way faster.

You also notice I do crit again but for lower damage but the damage also remains the same but then I crit for more and the damage changes.

You can even see in there when the spell says already has that effect then i start casting the next spell which tells me that I did not damage the mob until the tick finally occurred.  Why would I bullshit?  I mean if you still don't believe me I would be happy to also show you a video where you can clearly see right when i cast the spell the pets life does not go down not until the tick occurs.

So all in all when it comes to these servers they are not live like and until you make it live like all dot casters will do more damage than they are supposed to because they can spam their dots at insane speeds and even though they don't crit every hit the dps is more with how the way things are than how they are supposed to be because they can cast their spells way faster.  Listen to Jero and your all even more screwed with the mentalist shaman duo.

That is a lot of damage although they themselves do not think they are doing that much damage because the damage they are seeing on their screen is 20% less damage than what you are seeing on your screen so in their defense they will say no no not true!  See my post http://www.instantpvp.smfnew.com/index.php?topic=50.0

Ok another set of tests...  Bard NS...  Bard has + skill + stat + cap item NS has same items.  Bard nor NS has resist item so no resists at all...

NS Insta DD 162 delv 125
Bard Insta DD 220 delv 139

On bard screen NS Insta DD shows 170 not 162.

On NS screen Bard Insta DD shows 275 not 220.

Question is why is the difference between each DD so drastic between different screens.  There is only a 4.7% difference of damage the NS Insta DD while the Bard Insta DD is showing a near 20% different.

Now I am testing NS vs. Skald Insta DDs.

The Skald displays the same damage differences as the bard since both spells have the exact same delv.

But why are the spells doing 20% more damage than what is displayed to the caster.

Ns VS Runemaster

Runemaster DD shows 494 darkness spec frostalf on NS Screen it displays 520 that is only a 5% difference which is only 1% more than NS.

Which is the true number and why do these number differences exist?  Is this a bug or is this simple by design?

Ok I am in duel zone on two different accounts.  One is a bard the other is a nightshade.  It is really weird because of I DD the bard with the NS on my NS it says I did 169 damage but when I look at the bards screen I have done 177 damage.  Odd indeed!

Yes when the DoT crits it should crit the same amount of damage all the way through.  Also any other casts should say this target effect already has this effect which prevents from spam dots + crits.  The above description is exactly how live acts.
